Ready to Run
During my walk yesterday {Saturday}, I tried a little shuffle. Hurt instantly. Made me mad …well, more frustrated than mad, but I see my Infectious Disease doc Wednesday and if he gives the green light, I’m going to start running. First, run/walk {in reverse} 1/5 {instead of 5/1}, and go from there. Full speed ahead. Next goals: sub-24 5K, then sub-22, then sub-20.

Bouncing Back from the Bottom
How fitting that the last, previous post is the completion of the Georgia Marathon. A PR effort for me, without the PR effort - but that would be the last quality run I’d experience before “Arthur”.
Arthur is the nickname I gave a nasty little parasite that I {seemingly} contracted in Nicaragua. Long story short, it took me to the bottom. Sky-high fevers for over 2-3 weeks, 13 days in the hospital, puzzled doctors, tons of drugs, huge weight loss, significant muscle atrophy, and lots of pain.
Fighting Back
But now I’m fighting back, and in true C$ fashion, I’m logging the entire experience.
I know, I know, what does this have to do with the original macho intent of the skarfing project and my 3:05 Boston Marathon chase? Nothing. Nada. But, things change. It might not make a lot of sense, but I rarely do.
Please consider following along. It should be interesting. I’m as weak as an athlete can be and starting back with simple walking …but with an intent of chasing PR times again at the marathonĀ distanceĀ and beyond.
